MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The singer is an important player in his part of the Latin mainstream. Una Lady Como Tu, the song that he released in 2016, won the Colombian Kids Choice Award in 2017 for Favorite Song. His debut album was a long-player ADN for the Medellin-based Sony-distributed La Industria Inc. The album reached the top of the charts at number 8 on the Top Latin Albums charts. In the following year, he collaborated with Ozuna for the creation of Vaina Loca which reached number five on the Top Latin Albums chart. He collaborated alongside Noriel on Mala Influencia in 2020 and the following year released his sophomore album the chart-topping Dopamina. In 2021 he produced a duet for TINI's hit song Maldita Foto. The 2023 album of 2000 which featured the smash hit La Bachata. Turizo was raised within a musical family, as both his mother & older brother are professional musicians. According to him, musicality was a fundamental element of his existence. As a child he learned to play the saxophone and ukulele and piano. His initial choice of career was to be a veterinarian, but his brother Julian persuaded him to learn how to sing under an instructor from a Cuban teacher. The end result was that he realized his talent for singing and altered the direction of his life.
